New Detroit Graffiti @ East Vernor Highway & Beaufait Street

New Detroit Graffiti @ E Vernor & Beaufait #1.0

new-detroit-graffiti-e-vernor-beaufait-5 The sick new wave of Detroit graffiti continues with this vast gallery of freshly painted tags on the northeast corner of East Vernor Highway and Beaufait Street in the city’s Islandview neighborhood. Find 40 plus works here, most of which were produced by members of the nationally renowned graffiti crew, “NSF”. Rumor has it NSF stands for “Never Show Faces” but when it comes to the identity of taggers there’s little that can be confirmed as fact…. exactly as it should be. new-detroit-graffiti-e-vernor-beaufait-10 On the walls of this seemingly abandoned warehouse crew members have celebrated with spray paint both the great city of Detroit and their 19 years of tagging under the NSF psuedonym. Down here at the office we’re wondering if local artist “Sintex” is considered an official member? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? ~I♥DM

I get to see this every day it’s right out in front of where I work. Sadly some guys came by and ruined it by painting big black streaks through each tag.

Ouch, that’s harsh! So glad we took the time to get them all shot before they were defaced like so many of Detroit’s best tags often are. I assure you our city’s many hard working street artists and their out-of-town brethren will give us at least a thousand more to discover in the next year. Thanks for reading, Jay!
